I wish you all a HEALTHY HAPPY NEW YEAR
As I've been in the midst of my crisis - 'down the bottom of my well' as I call it, I have no project update as such. However I met up with James before Christmas when we had a good chat and I took possesion of a flip-cam, a brilliant tiny, hand-held device and a great excuse for talking to myself constantly!
I've made full use of it by making a video diary each day of what I've gone through these last two lonely weeks and am still now somehow muddling through but with no help from anybody including CMHT's. Not for the lack of trying, it seems unfortunately I have yet to find where such help does reside down here in Cornwall! Living the dream? Not at the moment!
Anyway on a cheerier note best wishes to you all for 2010 I hope you can all follow the initiatives as we do our best to enlighten others and :-
I continue the fight to OPEN UP!!
P.S. Please don't let my words above put you off seeking help, if you cannot find any call the samaritans, anyone, anybody. Why not write me, Open Up or Time to change a blog?

Project Update
Hello All,
Since my last blog I have continued to try my best inbetween the many low periods/moods I have been through over the last two months or more. I started off the New Year by designing two posters asking for volunteers and with the help of Karen, one of my few group members/supporters, she not only photocopied it many times for me to put out where I could, but she also emailed it to all her contacts at the day centre resources and CMHT's. Unfortunately, it seems that some of these places don't always open their emailed attachments, so it would have been best to actually rely on taking them round myself and if I drove I would have! I've also made lots of phone calls and sent information by email to various individuals and organisations including the local press and radio stations following my co-ordinator James writing a press release, though I continue to chase the latter two afore mentioned when I can summon up either confidence or nerve! I stopped last week 'cause I feel like I'm pestering the Cornishman now. One radio station (although only on-line) Penwith Radio are so busy they can't schedule an interview for several weeks but I know they'll be only too glad to help when they can. I've had about three responses to the volunteer posters and I hope to be meeting those who live within a suitable travelling distance, for the first time tomorrow Friday 19th February, as I invited them to the monthly group meeting in Penzance.
Several weeks ago local West Cornwall Mind published my projects press release informing and asking for volunteers, in their newsletter and I had one response to this. Also I met with a gentleman, now a new and valued group member, who had been shown my poster, he is a local film maker, who not only liked my ideas, but contributed his own with his vast expertise and knowledge of what else could be achieved and finally, on Tuesday we got our hands on a camera and spent a couple of hours trying out one of my ideas to shoot some footage of myself talking about some experiences I've had. Now I have to find out how best to playback the footage (my little, though invaluable, netbook isn't powerful enough for this), but I hope to view our work on a friends computer.
So I'm getting a little nearer and now awaiting to hear from Open Up headquarters about my request to borrow some equipment. I'll leave this blog here on a positive note because I hope tomorrows meeting will be successful.
Bye for now, love and light from Jenny xx
